All community members are invited to an action packed afternoon of meeting and
greeting on Sunday 18th of November 2012. Please find the details of this year’s Diwali
and Sneh Milan programme below.
Sneh Milan 2012 > Sunday 18th November @ 2.30pm till 8.00pm
We request for your company to celebrate Vikram-Savant 2069 at our centre; a day for
us as a community to get together, meet friends, family and share Dipawali greetings.
Please come and show your support to the young people who have been involved in the
organisation of this event.

Please note, we request for your prompt attendance as we have many items on the
agenda as well as buffet dinner. We would also like to reinforce to our elders that it will
be your support which will determine the interest of young people in our community.

There are various individuals who generously donated with TAN-MANN-DHAN and for
this we are ever grateful. On this note, our sincere thanks to Batukbhai Keshwala who as
per yearly custom, kindly donated a 22” LCD TV with DVD that was raffled as a prize.
Positive Contributions
Over the 9 nights of celebrations, there are various individuals who have made positive
contribution to our Gnati through dedication of time, talent, funds, and support. We
would like on behalf of the whole committee to sincerely thank the individuals involved
in organising the celebrations. It is further notable that our festive celebrations are a
huge success due to the hard work of all Dandia-Raas participants (Girls and Boys), their
parents, talented elders and those who give encouragement.
We would also like to convey the very best of congratulations to both of the Dandia
Raas groups (Juniors and Seniors) who have continued to triumph throughout the year.
The junior team under the guidance of Pratapbhai Lakhabhai Odedra secured 1st Prize
for best Raas Group at the annual Gujarat Dandia-Raas competition held at Demontfort
Hall in Leicester. The senior team under the guidance of Dilipbhai Keshwala were invited
and sponsored by an organisation called AIANA to perform in front of a crowd of 45,000
people at their annual World Gujarati Conference in New Jersey.
If you would like to dedicate couple of hours a week and help out at our centre, making
a difference instead of sitting back and accepting ways you’re not happy with, please
get involved. It is about the next generation, for who we are trying to unify and preserve
our culture.

during Navratri as per the enclosed summary statements. We would like to
convey our apologies in advance should there be any errors, any names which
have been missed out or miss spelt: please do inform us and we will certainly

There is a request to our community Brothers and Sisters who have not yet
purchased the available shares. Upon the purchase of the £300 membership
share, discounted venue bookings will be offered as well as community events
such as Navratri being free. Further information and applications are available at
our centre.
Regeneration of Maher Community Centre Phase 2: Refurbishment work is
scheduled to start in the very near future. Please log onto the community website
for updated information.
Navratri 2012 DVD: You can place an order for a copy of Navratri DVD with Vivek
Khistariya at our centre on 0116 242 5360 Mondays – Fridays between 5pm – 9pm.
Change of Name/Address: Please update the centre with any changes to personal
information or address as soon as possible. It is vital we receive the most up-todate
information in order to maintain regular communication.
LMCA are preparing for the forth coming Graduate and Singles events on the 1st of

Children’s Christmas Party for all under 16 will be held on Saturday 15th of
