A Leicester MP was a guest of honour at a spectacular Hindu festival this weekend.
Leicester South MP Parmjit Gill will join hundreds of other people at the Maher Community Centre to celebrate the Navrati festival.
The nine-day dance festival begins on Thursday, and people from across the country are expected to meet at the community centre this weekend.
The event on Saturday is from 7pm to midnight. There will be dancers, music, competitions and a food stall during the evening’s festivities.
