Roshni Sundavadra (daughter of Jethabhai Muru Sundavadra and Santokben) of Osterley, Kent, UK meets Prime Minister of India Mr Narendra Modi.
In the UK Roshni works for UN and her boss is Banki Moon. The picture was taken when Mr Modi was about to address United Nation during their meeting.
“Since April 2009, I have been working in the Executive Office of the Secretary-General and since November 2012 directly in the Front Office of the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, His Excellency Mr. Jan Eliasson. My responsibilities are to support his portfolio which ranges from Political, Development, Climate Change, Post-2015 Agenda, Every Woman Every Child Initiative, Energy for All Initiative, Water and Sanitation for All and numerous other issues.
Prior to this I worked in the Scheduling Office of the Secretary-General. During my time here I dealt with the Secretary-General’s meeting and event requests together with preparing for his official visits overseas and also accompanied the Secretary-General on these visits.
In my previous position I was a Diplomat with the British Government and I was posted to the UK Mission to the United Nations in New York.”
This is a great achievement for our Maher Community and we hope that Roshni’s success will inspire others to follow in her footsteps.
